I don't own any black opals. My husband bought this necklace for me for Christmas. It is exciting that it came from Australia! It is a nice design and the stone is as represented in the picture. The box it came in had a unique surprise too! I LOVED that! Overall I love this necklace. They sent instructions for the care of the necklace. Opals are touchy and can be ruined if you don't take care of them. They are worth it! They are beautiful! I may change out the chain, but that is my preference.

Wow, I'm blown away by how pretty this triplet opal is. My photo doesn't do it justice - the colours are so bright, exceeded my expectations. The gift box with the light inside is a lovely surprise and really makes it feel magical. It arrived very quickly from Australia to Ireland and was packaged very well.
